It will then be towed 188 km through the Volgo-Caspian Channel and 60 mls through the North Caspian Sea to the installation offshore site.
The EPC Contractor for erecting both ice-resistant fixed platforms (LSP and LQ) is CNGS Engineering. The ice-resistant jackets were manufactured at Galaktika Yard in Astrakhan, Russia. They will be installed in 2020 and the top sides will be installed in 2021 using floatover technology.
Lukoil’s Grayfer field, discovered in 2001, is the third project scheduled for development in the Caspian region. The Company plans to take advantage of the field’s close proximity to the V. Filanovsky field, using existing infrastructure to shorten lead times and reduce costs of construction. The commercial production is scheduled to start in 2023. The expected oil production plateau is 1.2 million tonnes per year.
